The Choir has a new Honorary President

We are delighted to announce that Bob Chilcott has accepted the position of Honorary President of the Glasgow Phoenix Choir. Bob, described as “a contemporary hero of British Choral music” has always been immersed in the choral tradition of this country.

A professional singer and one time member of the King’s Singers for twelve years , he became a full-time composer in 1997. He has produced a large catalogue of music for all types of choirs and the Phoenix regularly sings many of his compositions and arrangements in concert. He has worked with many thousands of singers in Britain over the last eighteen years. We are tremendously proud that, in his busy schedule, he has agreed to be our Honorary President and we look forward to a long and fruitful association.
